Two-Finger Ring

I had some left over plywood from the stamps I made so I decided to make a couple rings. Here's a ring I made for my girl in CHI for her b-day. I carved the ring out of the wood, sanded it down, stained the wood and then used a metallic paint for the design on top.

Dam-Funk remixes Animal Collective

I had the pleasure of catchin' Dam-Funk throw down when he was in Minneapolis a few weeks ago during the Stones Throw DJ tour. I didn't know what to expect but I was definitely blown away. The way he cut the funk and then threw some of his own vocals over it?! NUTS! Dam-Funk put his spin on Animal Collective "Summertime Clothes," check it out. Do you like it??

Field Guidezine

The past two weeks have gone by so fast and I feel like I missed out on a few cool things. I was cooped up in my Apt. working my ass off on this final project we had for class. I'll admit it was nice having the final combined between the two class but I dug myself into a hole. I was up until 2-3AM every night drawing...drawing...scanning...drawing...scanning...you get the picture.

Our project was to create a zine. The two teachers had picked out four different areas of land, beach, mountain, dessert and forest. We all had to create a cover system and then vote on who's cover system we'd us for the cover. After that we were free to do whatever we wanted to the guts. I had the topic beach, here's what it looks like.

CGD Award Winning Piece

Last Friday I found out that myself along with my other three classmates received an award from HOW Magazine. Below is what we were emailed.

"It’s my pleasure to inform you that your project Certificate in Graphic Design Brochure, which you submitted in the Student Work category of HOW’s recent Promotion Design Awards, was chosen as a Merit winner. Congratulations!"

The piece will be printed in the October issue.

Just noticed the colors on the photos are waaaaay off! I'll throw some 'right' color joints up a lil later.

**update peep the real colors here on my flickr page

Clutchy Hopkins

Clutchy Hopkins apparently is an enigma wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in a yacht rock look. Nobody knows who he is, there are theories, most likely someone like the Beastie Boys, DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, or maybe Danger Mouse. Who ever the hell he is he makes sick music.

You can find out more about this mystery at clutchyhopkins.com

Infinite

A lot of attention is back on Eminem but have you ever wondered what he was like before “Hi my name is…” Well we got the goods. Originally released 1996 on a cassette tape is Eminem’s “Infinite,” you’ll hear more of an East Coast flow coming out this rappers mouth (think AZ, Nas...). After this tape was released he made it down to Scribble Jam where it was said he stole Slugs flow after a battle. “Infinite” is LEGENDARY! Don’t sleep on this joint.

Start Your Monday Right...

The homie Señor Kaos out of ATL is steady grinding and getting the word out that ATL isn't filled with a bunch of cookie cutter hip-hop artist that make bullshit ass music. That's right, there is a crew of underground cats that never make the airwaves because they don't "Pay to Play!" Kaos hit me with a fresh remix of the song "Foolish" feat.Ozy Reigns, Mojo Swagger and Señor Kaos and I'm not going to lie I've had it on repeat since he hit me with the joint.

In the words of Kaos, "It's gonna make you go in the office and slap your boss, that's if you have a boss. If you're a boss, then it's gonna make you slap yourself!!"

"Foolish" feat. Ozy Reigns, Mojo Swagger and Señor Kaos. Download here.
