Karmasheetra

To twist yourself into previously perplexing bedroom positions, lay down the Twister-like sheet and place hands, feet, knees, and asses on the appropriately numbered symbols -- pink for you, blue for your man -- which would pave the path to ecstasy, if your extreme horniness could only overcome your crumminess at Twister.

Order yours here.

MCP Closes

To all you are lovers and photographers out there I just received a very sad email from MCP. It saddens me to see places where your creativity is nourished and your knowledge is expanded through the arts closing. It seems that it's happening too much and it needs to stop!

Here was the letter that the Board Co-Chairs sent out...

It is with regret that we must inform you that Minnesota Center for Photography is discontinuing business operations at the close of business on July 31st. Over the past six months we have unsuccessfully attempted to adjust our budget and, with your help, raise additional funds to pay down debt and fund continuing operations.

The Board made this decision with reluctance and after attempting whatever we could do to permit the survival of MCP.

On behalf of the many stakeholders in Minnesota Center For Photography, we thank you for your continuing interest and support of MCP’s mission over the years.

Very truly yours,

Chuck Koosmann, Co-Chair
Mark L. Wilson, Co-Chair

Cassettes Won’t Listen has been nominated for an MTV Music Video award for their song, "Paper Float" and has taken it upon themselves to launch a campaign to beat Kanye West. That’s right! Here’s the deal if Cassettes Won’t Listen gets more nominations than Mr. Ego Kanye West, they’ll give their next album away in a free download format. (Not that you probably won’t be able to find it anyway…for free that is).

Check out the website they launched that redirects you to where you need to vote.

A-List!

City Pages A-Listed Muja Messiah's Album Release party that will be going down this Sunday at First Avenue.

Muja Messiah (CD-Release)
Date/Time:Sun., July 27, 8:00pm
Price: $8/$10

Muja Messiah
Jen Paulson

Muja Messiah is a genuine badass. After putting out his Mpls Massacre mixtape earlier this year with a long, impressive list of local guest stars tearing it apart alongside of him, it's time for the unleashing of his new full-length album, Thee Adventures of a B-Boy D-Boy. The album features the same brash, rough-around-more-than-just-the-edges persona, crossed with killer beats and rhymes that more than live up to the Muja hardcore stamp of approval. Hosted by hip-hop hero Brother Ali with I Self Devine, the bill is so chock-full of blindingly bright local talent from the likes of M.anifest, Maria Isa, and Black Blondie that this show is bound to shake the very foundations of the legendary First Avenue Mainroom on an otherwise sleepy Sunday night. Assemble the crew and get down there, because right now Muja Messiah stands on the precipice of hitting the scene harder than a fist to the face, and you know you wanna be there to experience it firsthand. Franz and Friends Latest Podcast

FRANZ

Noam the Drummer

Alicia Steele

Franz Diego is a local rapper, activist or should I say justice fighter, H-U-S-T-L-E-R and just an all around dope person. I've known this kid since he was in HIGH SCHOOL!! It's crazy to think of how long we've known each other. Anywho here's the deal Franz along with Noam the Drummer and Alicia Steele (who I also have known for a min Marshall Fields baby!) have come together and put an hour aside every week to discuss issues about life.

The first two episodes the three of them were trying to come up with a name for the show and this week they finally got one they're working with "Listen to MPLS: Music, People, Love Shh...." This weeks show they talk about local blogs (this one was mentioned! woot!), Atmosphere's latest video shoot, origins of Lil Wayne samples, websites, shows, The RNC, Youth Work, Critical Mass, Documentaries, Deep Cookie, Plane Tickets and much more!

This is probably the coolest talk show out of Minneapolis right now and I say talk show because that's all they do. Peep it Here.

Criminal Searches

Sometimes I wonder if the internet is really a good thing? There are so many websites that could crush you if someone really wanted to dig deep enough into something from the past. I recently received an email that contained a link to a criminal search, whaaaa? Yea, you can go to this website and type in the name of whom ever and bam! Check by name and get the durrrrty on a wide range of said person's offense: drugs & alcohol, sex, violent, teft, traffic, behavioral and busniess. Granted most of these reports/arrests are public records but it's just crazy that now it's only a click away. Criminal Searches isn't complete and there may be some data missing inlcuding minor traffic offenses. If you feel like seeing what might be under your name on this website check it out here.
