Backstage @ Black Blondie release w/Dead Prez, Muja Messiah, M.Anifest

Backstage randomness: w/ M1 (Dead Prez) & Muja Messiah from M.anifest on Vimeo.

Last Friday Minneapolis celebrated the long awaited release from Black Blondie. Just so happens that M-1 from Dead Prez was in town and was kickin' it with the homie Muja Messiah. See what M.Anifest captured on his camera back stage with the crew of homies. Also I should, at some point this weekend, finally get my pictures up from the release party.

Muja Messiah "I Survived The Bush Era" Live

Still celebratin....another highlight from the Dre Day event at The Varsity in Minneapolis last week again captured by One Dynamic Broad aka Saucy Dame Delux. The new, controversial track from Muja Messiah -" I Survived The Bush Era" is produced by Che Vicious (Dr.Dre/ Nas/Eminem), picks up where "The Patriot Act" left off, this time Muja gets patriotic.

"While these fools still try to fight the War on Terror, I survived The Bush Era"

GZA, MUJA MESSIAH, P.O.S.

GZA
Peter S. Scholtes
Let it stew in the subconscious, where the real Wu-Tang decoding begins, but to my ears GZA's new Pro Tools (Babygrande) sounds like one of the more delirious and imaginative Wu-Tang-related releases since GZA's own Wu-fan-favorite Liquid Swords (from 1995), a classic he's been performing live in toto this year. At least "Life Is a Movie" deserves the Gnarls Barkley-sized crossover it won't get, from its Gary Numan-esque synth whack to a funny born-loser chorus ("sometimes I feel like my life's a movie/I don't like to film/I don't like the film") warbled by Irfane Khan-Acito of the Parisian electronic group Outlines. "I contracted lung cancer from third-hand smoke," quips the Genius. "The man who hit lotto and lost his ticket/In a rainstorm, and struck by lightning trying to get it." With devilish local hero Muja Messiah, and special guests to be announced.

A-List!

City Pages A-Listed Muja Messiah's Album Release party that will be going down this Sunday at First Avenue.

Muja Messiah (CD-Release)
Date/Time:Sun., July 27, 8:00pm
Price: $8/$10

Muja Messiah
Jen Paulson

Muja Messiah is a genuine badass. After putting out his Mpls Massacre mixtape earlier this year with a long, impressive list of local guest stars tearing it apart alongside of him, it's time for the unleashing of his new full-length album, Thee Adventures of a B-Boy D-Boy. The album features the same brash, rough-around-more-than-just-the-edges persona, crossed with killer beats and rhymes that more than live up to the Muja hardcore stamp of approval. Hosted by hip-hop hero Brother Ali with I Self Devine, the bill is so chock-full of blindingly bright local talent from the likes of M.anifest, Maria Isa, and Black Blondie that this show is bound to shake the very foundations of the legendary First Avenue Mainroom on an otherwise sleepy Sunday night. Assemble the crew and get down there, because right now Muja Messiah stands on the precipice of hitting the scene harder than a fist to the face, and you know you wanna be there to experience it firsthand.
